1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how SwipeShrink: Photo Cleaner (“SwipeShrink,” “the app,” “we,” or “us”) handles information when you use the current Version 1 (V1) application. SwipeShrink is an iOS utility for reviewing, organizing, cleaning, and compressing photos and videos.
2. Photo Library Access
SwipeShrink needs access to Apple Photos (your Photo Library) to provide core functions such as finding duplicate or similar photos, organizing videos, calculating storage use, preparing deletion candidates, and creating compressed outputs.
Access is controlled by Apple’s permission system. Where iOS supports limited-library access, you can choose to make only selected photos and videos available. Some results may be incomplete, and some features may not work, if you deny access or provide limited access.
You can review or change SwipeShrink’s Photos permission through the appropriate privacy or app settings in iOS Settings. The exact labels and location may vary by iOS version. Reopen the app after changing permission if updated access is not immediately reflected.
3. Photos and Videos
The current V1 app accesses the media you permit through Apple’s Photos framework and processes that media locally on your device. Accessing your library through PhotoKit does not mean the developer receives your photos or videos.
The developer does not operate a server to which the current V1 app uploads your photos or videos. SwipeShrink also does not require you to create a SwipeShrink account.
4. On-Device Analysis
To provide its features, SwipeShrink may examine file metadata and visual or content characteristics needed for functions including:
- identifying possible duplicate photos;
- grouping visually similar photos;
- categorizing and organizing media;
- calculating file sizes and local storage use;
- organizing videos; and
- evaluating and producing compression results.
This analysis takes place on your device in the current V1 implementation. Duplicate and similarity results are review aids, not guarantees that media is identical or safe to delete.
5. Photo Deletion
Photo or video deletion is initiated only by you. Swipe Delete may help you review or stage deletion candidates, but the final operation follows Apple’s Photos/PhotoKit authorization mechanisms and may require system confirmation. SwipeShrink cannot bypass Apple’s Photos permission or deletion confirmation.
The developer does not silently initiate deletion. Any recovery options, including Apple Photos’ Recently Deleted feature, depend on the user’s device and system state and are not guaranteed.
6. Photo Compression
Compression operates on media you select after you deliberately choose a compression action. The current workflow creates a new compressed JPEG output. You choose whether to save that output back to Photos, and saving occurs through PhotoKit after your explicit action or confirmation.
SwipeShrink does not automatically replace or delete the original photo when it creates or saves a compressed copy. You should compare the output and retain the original until you are satisfied with the result.
7. Information the Developer Receives
Under the current V1 implementation, SwipeShrink does not require an account and does not include developer-operated photo or video uploads. Accordingly, the app is not designed to transmit your Photo Library content or on-device analysis results to the developer or to any third party, including SwipeShrink’s advertising partner.
SwipeShrink does include advertising, supplied by Google AdMob, and a consent-management flow supplied by Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP). See “Data Selling, Advertising, and Tracking” below and the Data Choices page for what that involves and the choices available to you.
If you contact support by email, the developer receives the information you intentionally include in that message, such as your email address, device details, and description of the issue. Please do not send private photos or videos unless you intentionally choose to do so and believe it is necessary.
This description is limited to the current V1 behavior. Future features that change data handling will require this policy to be reviewed and updated before those features are released.
8. Data Selling, Advertising, and Tracking
SwipeShrink does not sell your photo or video content, and does not give your Photo Library content to any advertising or analytics partner.
The current V1 app displays advertising supplied by Google AdMob to help support free access to the app. Google, as the advertising provider, and its measurement partners may process device and advertising identifiers and other advertising-related technical data in connection with ad delivery and measurement, subject to Google’s own privacy policy and the consent choices described below.
Where required by iOS App Tracking Transparency (“ATT”), SwipeShrink asks for your permission before any identifier associated with your device is used for advertising measurement; requesting only non-personalized ads does not remove this requirement. If you deny or have not granted ATT permission, tracking-related identifiers are not used for advertising, and the app continues to function normally with ads gated accordingly.
For users in the EEA, UK, and other regions where it applies, SwipeShrink uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to determine whether a consent form is required and to collect that consent before any ads are requested; ads stay gated off until that flow resolves. You can review or change your advertising consent at any time from within the app under Settings → Ads Privacy Options where that option appears, and can review or revoke ATT tracking permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Beyond what is described here, SwipeShrink does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites for the developer’s own purposes and does not operate its own separate analytics system.
9. Third-Party Platform Services
SwipeShrink relies on Apple iOS and the Photos/PhotoKit framework for device permissions and Photo Library operations. Your use of Apple services is also governed by Apple’s applicable terms and policies. Apple is not the developer of SwipeShrink, and reference to Apple services does not imply Apple’s endorsement of the app.
10. Children’s Privacy
SwipeShrink is a general-purpose photo utility and is not designed to knowingly solicit personal information from children. The current V1 app does not include account registration or age-gating features. If you believe a child has sent personal information through a support request, contact us so the concern can be reviewed.
11. Security
On-device processing and Apple’s permission controls help limit exposure of your media. We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the app’s current design, but no device, software, or method of handling information can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and Apple account.
12. Data Retention, Deletion, and Your Choices
This section explains, in one place, how long information related to SwipeShrink is kept and what choices you have.
Your photos and videos. The current V1 app processes your media on your device and does not upload it to a developer-operated server. Because the developer never receives a copy of your Photo Library content, there is no developer-held copy of your photos or videos for the developer to retain or delete — retention and deletion of that media is controlled entirely by you and by Apple’s Photos app on your device.
Revoking or reducing Photos access. You can revoke or reduce SwipeShrink’s access to your Photo Library at any time in iOS Settings (Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → SwipeShrink: Photo Cleaner, or Settings → SwipeShrink: Photo Cleaner → Photos, depending on your iOS version). You can choose “None,” “Limited Access,” or “All Photos.” Reducing or revoking access does not delete media already stored in your Photo Library; it only changes what SwipeShrink can see going forward.
Local app data. The app may keep a small amount of data on your device only, such as your selected app settings and short-lived, in-progress review or selection state used while you are actively using a feature (for example, which items you have swiped during a session). This local data stays on your device, is not transmitted to the developer, and is removed if you delete the app.
Support correspondence. If you email us for support, we keep that correspondence only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide support, troubleshoot issues, maintain security records, or comply with legal obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified in the ordinary course of account and mailbox management.
Requesting deletion. You may request deletion of personal information contained in your support correspondence by emailing myskyocean2024@gmail.com. We will honor such requests except where retaining information is reasonably necessary for support continuity, troubleshooting, fraud or abuse prevention, security records, or to comply with a legal obligation, in which case we will retain only what is reasonably necessary for those purposes.
No account, no account-deletion workflow. The current V1 app does not offer account creation or sign-in, so there is no SwipeShrink account or associated account data for the developer to delete. If a future version introduces accounts, this policy will be updated before that feature is released to describe an account-deletion process.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in SwipeShrink, legal requirements, or data-handling practices. An updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Material changes should be reviewed before the related app behavior is released.
