How can we help?

Practical guidance for Photos access, cleaner results, Swipe Delete, compression, and common app problems.

Getting Started

SwipeShrink requires access to your Photos Library for its cleaning and organization features. The app uses the media you allow to find possible duplicates or similar photos, organize videos, calculate storage use, prepare deletion candidates, and create compressed outputs.

When prompted, choose the level of Photos access that fits your needs. Limited access can be useful when you want to share only selected media, but results may be incomplete and some features may not be available.

Photo Access Troubleshooting

If you denied Photos access, granted limited access, or need to change your selection:

  1. Open iOS Settings.
  2. Find SwipeShrink in the app or privacy settings.
  3. Review the app’s Photos access and choose the access level you want.
  4. Reopen SwipeShrink after making the change.

Settings labels can vary by iOS version. If the app still cannot see expected media, confirm that those items are included in the limited selection or allow broader Photos access.

Cleaner & Duplicate Results

Duplicate and similar-photo detection is a review aid. Similar photos are not necessarily identical: they may differ in expression, focus, framing, edits, or other details that matter to you. Always open and inspect media before selecting it for deletion.

Swipe Delete

Swipe Delete helps you review and organize deletion candidates. A swipe or review choice can stage an item, but final deletion requires your confirmation through Apple’s Photos mechanisms. Verify every selected photo and video before you confirm.

Compression

Compression creates a new compressed JPEG output from the media you choose. Different options balance file size and visual detail:

LightPrioritizes visual quality with gentler size reduction.
RecommendedA balanced choice for file size and image quality.
StrongAims for a smaller output and may reduce quality more noticeably.

Actual savings vary by image, and no exact reduction is guaranteed. Save to Photos creates the compressed output only when you choose to save it. SwipeShrink does not automatically replace or delete the original.

Deleted Photos

Apple Photos may provide a Recently Deleted mechanism depending on your device’s system state and settings. Recovery is not guaranteed. If you deleted something unintentionally, check Photos promptly and follow Apple’s available recovery options.

App Problems

If SwipeShrink is not working as expected:

  1. Confirm that SwipeShrink has the Photos access needed for the feature.
  2. Close and reopen SwipeShrink.
  3. Make sure the device has enough available storage.
  4. Restart the device if needed.
  5. Contact support if the issue continues.
